Fall 2020 J Term MATH 307

MATH 307J: Introduction to Differential Equations

Instructor: David Clancy

Email address: djclancy@uw.edu

Office Hours: I’ll have two hours (TBD) of normal office hours each week. If there’s enough people asking about particular HW problems, I’ll record a solution video and upload it. The solutions will be more-or-less step-by-step solutions.

Office Hours Location: There will be a zoom link posted on Canvas (class restricted link).

Useful External Resources (included roughly in the order they are used in class)

I’ve written some notes and extra problems here

Some more problems from a different instructor are here

I’m guessing that a lot of your instructors are overloading you with work or material right now. That is not my intention. Following social distancing guidelines means that we have to have online lectures, which is not the best scenario for learning the material and the goal of college courses should be to learn the material. I’ll try to provide as many resources as possible, and hope that it doesn’t overwhelm you.

This course is just during the Fall 2020 term and is being held online. The lecture videos are pre-recorded and will be available here http://faculty.washington.edu/heathml/307/. We will mostly be following the schedule there. Some videos are not included as of yet, but they should be updated before the corresponding class meeting on the topic. The calendar is included below, but I don’t include the lecture notes associated with the videos. I’ve included only the Panopto recording link, but a youtube link can be found on the previously linked page.
